Over the next few weeks we hope to introduce you to some of the people who serve in our worship ministry as well as give you a behind the scenes glimpse into the worship planning process here at Orangewood.
Each week we meet as a team and plan the elements of worship based on the vision Jeff has given us for his message series. The meetings entail discussions of the topics, batting around ideas that would fit them, and lots of laughter. We’ve worked together long enough to have found a convivial familiarity that often leads to funny observations and situations that make us laugh loud and long. When planning something as serious as the worship of our Lord, we often find humor in the process. It’s not all fun and games though… often our conversations are serious and we discuss topics and issues that are often hard to grasp. Those times are good too, as they stretch us in our desire to honor the Lord in our worship of Him.
Here’s our team and a little lighthearted info about each one.
Kyle Mattingly – Kyle holds a music degree from UCF, plays the piano, keyboard, and cowbell on Sunday mornings, and arranges all the music for worship. He is married to Sarah, who works in the sound booth during Worship each weekend. In his spare time he likes tennis, racquetball, reading blogs, annoying his dogs, and making neo-classical sculptures with toothpicks.
As you can see, we’re a diverse group—a little goofy at times, but we enjoy the camaraderie we have in working together.
Pray for us as we plan and serve!
